BC2010 Wax is a 50% hydrogenated soy wax, offering a balanced blend of firmness and smoothness ideal for candle making. This type of wax retains some of the natural softness and creamy texture of soy while improving structural stability and melting point through partial hydrogenation. It is commonly used in container candles, wax blends, and aromatherapy candles, where a clean burn, good scent throw, and smooth finish are desired. Its compatibility with various additives and fragrances makes it a versatile base for custom formulations. However, challenges include frosting, a common visual imperfection in soy-based waxes, and inconsistent performance due to natural batch variability. Additionally, partial hydrogenation may limit its use in pillar or molded candles without blending, as it may lack sufficient hardness and shrinkage. BC2008 Wax is a 100% palm wax known for its natural hardness, high crystallinity, and ability to create distinctive feathered or crystalline surface patterns, making it well-suited for pillar candles, votives, and rustic-style containers. It offers excellent mold release, opacity, and clean-burning characteristics, all while being fully plant-based and typically lower in price than other natural waxes like soy or coconut. However, its natural color tends to be more yellow, which may affect the final appearance of lighter-colored candles. Additional challenges include brittleness, limited scent retention, and sustainability concerns depending on sourcing practices.
